Dans Homer contre New-York (s9), le panorama sur les Simpson quittant la ville a été à l'époque très difficile et cher à concevoir en animation traditionnelle, pour un résultat légèrement saccadé. Deux ans plus tard, Futurama et ses plans animés par ordinateur auraient fait aisément une telle séquence, pour un résultat plus fluide.
